Fiestas del Carmen in Puerto de la Cruz

The municipality of Puerto de la Cruz celebrates one of its most famous events in July with the Fiestas de la virgen del Carmen. Every July 16 the image of the virgin is carried by boat while a large crowd of people bathe in the harbor. During that day takes place one of the most celebrated traditions: the cucaña. There are also dances, meals, and activities for the little ones.
