Cristina Branco is one of Portugal’s most important artists of recent decades. She began her career in Holland with "Cristina Branco in Holland" (1997), which became a hit in that country. In the years that followed, her name became popular, with sold-out dates in countless cities. Her subsequent works - "Murmúrios" (1998) and "Post-Scriptum" (2000) - built on this. It was at the beginning of the millennium, with albums like "Sensus" (2003), that Cristina Branco began to be discovered by the Portuguese public. These were followed by "Abril" (2007), an album of José Afonso covers, and the iconic Fado Tango, which features collaborations with renowned Portuguese authors. The album foreshadowed Cristina's artistic renaissance that would come with "Menina" - voted the Best Album of the Year by the Portuguese Society of Authors and part of a trilogy that includes the jovial "Branco" (2018) and "Eva" (2020). In these, Cristina includes unusual collaborations that result in an innovative interpretation of fado. In 2022, Cristina Branco celebrated her first 25 years on stage and shortly before visiting Otoño Cultural CajaCanarias she plans to release her new album, which she will premiere at Espacio Cultural in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
