El Guincho rope jump

El Guincho rope jump in Gran Canaria

Aquatic rope jumping acuático in a narrow Gran Canaria cove

El Guincho is one of Gran Canaria’s most spectacular aquatic rope jumps. The cove is just 25 metres wide and 130 metres deep and flanked by vertical and almost parallel sea cliffs that rise high above the exit point. The whole cove booms with the strong surf typical of this coastline. The return is via the cliffs rather than by sea due to the conditions.

Rope jump close to Las Palmas

The El Guincho drop is 30 metres and the exit point is a wide platform. There’s a nearby car park and the jump is easy to access as it is right by the GC-2 motorway just 10 minutes from Las Palmas. This jump should only be attempted with support from a specialist company that knows the local weather and ocean conditions and the terrain.
