El Golfo

A small fishing village surrounded by lava

In the east of Lanzarote and on the Atlantic shore is El Golfo, a small fishing village in the Natural Park of Los Volcanes. Surrounded by the spectacular lavas of the 1730 -1736 eruptions, is a charming settlement of Lanzarote style fishing houses, with whitewashed walls and flat roofs within narrow streets leading down to the picture postcard scene of boats moored on the beach of black sand.

Rural accommodation and fine dining

El Golfo has a choice of enchanting accommodation. A visit to this fishing village is well worthwhile, not only for its beauty but also for its peace and quiet, its fine dining based on fresh local fish and for its close proximity to natural spots such as Los Clicos green water pool or Timanfaya National Park. What’s more, contemplating the evening light from one of the terraces will end those soothing days on a high note.

Sustainability
Sostenibilidad
- Never leave waste of any type lying around, including cigarette butts. Leftover food leads to a proliferation of rats and wild cats, which pose a serious threat to the fauna.
- Do not throw any waste or other objects into the sea.
- Respect the animals. Do not bother them or feed them. If you see an injured specimen, you can call the emergency number: 112. Do not pick flowers or plants.
- Do not pick up or take away stones or any other item from the natural environment. And do not move them to pile them up into sadly famous 'towers'.
- Respect and look after the area's historic and cultural heritage, along with the different items of public furniture (information panels, railings, seats, lighting, etc.).
