Caleta de Sebo

A village in La Graciosa which exudes tranquility

Caleta de Sebo is, perhaps, one of the most unusual places in the Canary Islands. It is the “capital” of La Graciosa, the only inhabited island of the Chinijo Archipelago Natural Park, to the north east of Lanzarote. Catch one of the daily boats and in twenty minutes find yourself in this sanctuary of peace, white houses and streets of pale sand along which you can stroll as if you were Robinson Crusoe. Discover tranquility in the middle of the Atlantic, a place to recharge those batteries worn out by the fast pace of everyday life.

Beaches of calm water in La Graciosa

Near Caleta de Sebo is a beach called La Francesa and a little further on is La Cocina beach with its calm crystal clear waters and fine white sand. While in Caleta de Sebo, hire a taxi-jeep or a bicycle to visit the most interesting places in La Graciosa although its reduced size allows the visitor to get around on foot by taking its many walkways. And once your spirit has been replenished, what better than to fill your stomach with delicious fresh fish typical of Caleta de Sebo.

Sustainability
Sostenibilidad
- Never leave waste of any type lying around, including cigarette butts. Leftover food leads to a proliferation of rats and wild cats, which pose a serious threat to the fauna.
- Do not throw any waste or other objects into the sea.
- Respect the animals. Do not bother them or feed them. If you see an injured specimen, you can call the emergency number: 112. Do not pick flowers or plants.
- Do not pick up or take away stones or any other item from the natural environment. And do not move them to pile them up into sadly famous 'towers'.
- Respect and look after the area's historic and cultural heritage, along with the different items of public furniture (information panels, railings, seats, lighting, etc.).
