Romería en Honor a San Roque (San Roque Pilgrimage)

Since the seventeenth century this joyful and popular festival is celebrated every August 16, in the Tenerife municipality of Garachico. The municipal band of music, carts, herds of animals, rondallas and parrandas accompany the image of San Roque to his hermitage. At the same time, the fishermen of Garachico carry out the maritime pilgrimage, accompanying the saint with their boats along the coast. This celebration has been declared a Fiesta of National Tourist Interest.
