An excursion to a nature area and a sensory experience

The Los Sentidos trail runs along an old King's highway. Part of it has been recovered for the enjoyment of hillwalkers and nature fans from all over the world who are attracted to it due to the wealth of plant life in the lush laurisilva, full of textures and lively colours and the scent and the sound of silence emanating from its prehistoric heart. An information board system helps you experience these sensations in a very original way.

A route through a prehistoric forest for the enjoyment of all

Totally adapted, even for people with motor disabilities and sensory impairments, the Los Sentidos trail has different layouts (low to medium-low difficulty) and its short routes provide the option of getting into the magic of Anaga on a few-minute stroll. Located less than 30 km from the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and easily accessible via modern road links, the trail starts at La Cruz del Carmen, which has a visitor centre that provides information on other trails and routes and a viewing point from which you can see a spectacular panorama of one of the areas with the most biodiversity in Europe.

Sostenibilidad
- Never leave waste of any type lying around, including cigarette butts. Leftover food leads to a proliferation of rats and wild cats, which pose a serious threat to the fauna.
- Use the waste- paper baskets and, insofar as possible, separate and place your recycling waste in the appropriate containers.
- Do not throw any waste or other objects into the sea.
- Respect the animals. Do not bother them or feed them. If you see an injured specimen, you can call the emergency number: 112. Do not pick flowers or plants.
- Do not pick up or take away stones or any other item from the natural environment. And do not move them to pile them up into sadly famous 'towers'.
- In natural spaces and at viewpoints, do not leave the trail or the spaces designated for people to be in.
- Respect and look after the area's historic and cultural heritage, along with the public furniture and items for visitors, such as information panels or telescopes and binoculars.
